Founder and Leader
Hardial Bains (August
15, 1939 - August 24, 1997) was the founder of the Communist
Party of Canada (Marxist-Leninist) and its leader until
his untimely death in August 1997.
The most important feature of Hardial Bains as a
political personality was his dedication to the solution of the most
important problems facing the society at any time. By sticking to
the present, he worked to tackle the most critical problem on the basis
of maximum ideological mobilization and maximum political mobilization.

Sandra
L. Smith, First Secretary of the Central Committee
Sandra L. Smith is First Secretary of the Central
Committee of the Communist Party of Canada (Marxist-Leninist). The
Central Committee is elected by the National Congress, the Party's
highest decision-making body. It leads the work of the Party when the
Congress is not in session according to the mandate given by the
Congress. Sandra was unanimously re-elected First Secretary by the
Central Committee elected at the Party's 8th Congress held in Ottawa

Anna Di Carlo, National Leader
Anna Di Carlo is the leader of the Marxist-Leninist
Party of Canada, elected on August 16, 2008 by the Party's 8th
Congress. Aside from the duties required of the national leader
by the Canada Elections Act,
Anna is responsible for developing the public relations office of the
MLPC, issuing communiques, responding to media inquiries, being
available as a resource person, and carrying out a public educational
program on matters related to the Canada
Elections Act, theories of
